Im Engaged & Looking for a wedding florist!

Photography by Odessa James Photography – The Meshewa House at Turner Farm – Design by KMC Weddings If you’re here, you’re likely ready and want to reserve Floral V Designs for your big day.  Well lets start out by saying CONGRATULATIONS!! Even if you have your wedding date picked out, you might not be quite ready to dive head first into the design process. It’s important that you give yourself some time to research and get inspired during the early planning process.  Choose your venue, pick out the dresses, start Pinning images that inspire you. Photography by Amanda Donaho On average, most of our clients book with us 6 months to one year out from their wedding date. That said, we have some couples who book more than a year out, and others who reach out 3 months from the big day. But don’t wait to reach out to your top choice vendors. Especially if you’re getting married during peak wedding season( May, June, Sept, Oct), since most are only able to accommodate a few weddings per weekend! Before you reach out, it’s helpful to have your venue selected and booked, since the location determines so many factors of the day (style and color palette, guest count, etc). Planning reception flowers and décor without a venue is like decorating a house you haven’t bought yet. The couch might not fit and the colors could be all wrong! If you’d like to chat flowers before you book your venue, we are happy too!  Just keep in mind that it will be a more general conversation and things might change once you settle on a space.   Photography by Odessa James Photography – The Meshewa House at Turner Farm – Design by KMC Weddings   Once you have your venue, the […]

Seasonal Spring Flowers and Sunshine at Derby Lane Estate

Happy 1 year Anniversary to Zack and Kim!!! What could be better than a spring wedding, full of sunshine, at one of the most sunning venues with a pond? Nothing! Kim and Zack were able to spread the love (and sunshine) at Derby Lane Estate with their beautiful spring flowers. Kim is the lead floral designer at Floral V Designs, and her wedding flowers were something dreams were made of.  She was able to showcase her amazing, in season-spring florals through all the personal bouquets, but also through three wedding arches and reception decor. These wedding arches created the perfect backdrop for their May wedding.  Thanks to Lost and Found Event Rentals for custom making these for us!!!   A bonus was being able to repurpose the flowers on a bridge over the water( a fabulous idea from the photographer), creating an amazing image for the Bride and Groom. Every detail was planned perfectly, even down to the spring palate of dress colors that of course matched the amazing flower choices.. Let’s be real, who doesn’t love a bright spring flowers with sunshine? Congratulations to Kim and Zack, what a perfect day you two created! Photographer: Sarah Babcock Flowers: Floral V Designs

Hidden Gem in Centerville

What an amazing ceremony location.  We walked over 10 miles back and forth setting up this wedding location for one of our special brides.  This is The Chimney’s in Grant Nature Center in Centerville, Ohio.  A quarter of a mile hike in the woods brought the wedding guests to this beautiful tree lined old home site.  The bride and groom stood in front of our lanterns shaded by the midday clouds.  Sept 3 turned out to be a perfect wedding day for our employee Lauren getting married.

In season flowers

Using in season summer flowers is a great way to guarantee perfection in your floral product. This bridal bouquet consisted of dahlias, garden roses, stock, freesias, lisianthus, white solidago and ranuculas. All of these flowers are available from summer to fall. Of course you can get them most times of year, but the cost will be greater and the quality won’t be as good.

February Marriott Bridal Show

Our spring booth last month at the Marriott Bridal Show.  We took our 8 foot by 8 foot birch archway and covered it in 350 yards of coral, blush, champagne and ivory double face satin ribbon.  The booth was full of 24 beautiful bouquets, 8 centerpieces, 2-8 foot tall cherry blossom trees and multiple bud vases, boutonnieres and corsages. It looked and smelled like spring (even though it was still winter outside). 🙂
