The Bold and the Beautiful

Our customers often ask us the same question week to week, “Should we do all white or should we add color?” I say ADD COLOR!! I just adore when color is used in any arrangement.  Of course, white is simple and never goes out of style.  It is contemporary, classic and always appropriate. But when you ask our opinion as a creative director, I always say go for the color!! These beautiful blooms of magenta, burgundy, peach and bright yellow accent the neutral green base, making the color almost shoot out of this image. ~Cady, Owner and Creative Director of Floral V Designs

Boutonniere of the year 2017

So far in our meetings with our brides we have clearly seen a trend in choosing Ranunculus for the main boutonniere flower choice for 2017 upcoming weddings.  With so many colors to choose from, ranunculus can lend themselves towards a garden and greenery themed wedding or a classic rose inspired wedding.  These groomsmen flowers were white ranunculus accented by lavender Wax Flower, Italian Ruscus greenery wrapped in a champagne satin ribbon. The perfect final touch. Boutonniere image provided by Mandy Paige Photography

Our first composting day

We had an exciting day today, we took over our first run of organic materials to Toms Mulch in Bellbrook, Ohio.  We work with the local landscaping company which accepts all our organic matter which they then turn into mulch and compost! We are eliminating 22,000 pounds of organic material going into our local landfill here in Dayton, Ohio.  We are just 1 of 1000’s of florists across the nation.  Imagine what we all could do to make a better and cleaner Earth.  #goinggreen #AGreenerFlorist

Hand lettered place cards

Place cards are a important part of a wedding reception.  Brides debate whether to have open seating or assigned seating.  Remember, your guests are there to be a part of your big day, they have a reason to be there, thats another reason to have a place for them to go at the reception.  Every person has gone to an event where they did not know many people, so having a place to go was easier than looking at a crowd of hundreds and feeling like you don’t belong.  So when you ask us our opinion, we say to take the time and figure out your seating chart or place/escort cards.  Thank you Mark Garber Photography for this beautiful detail shot.

Hidden Gem in Centerville

What an amazing ceremony location.  We walked over 10 miles back and forth setting up this wedding location for one of our special brides.  This is The Chimney’s in Grant Nature Center in Centerville, Ohio.  A quarter of a mile hike in the woods brought the wedding guests to this beautiful tree lined old home site.  The bride and groom stood in front of our lanterns shaded by the midday clouds.  Sept 3 turned out to be a perfect wedding day for our employee Lauren getting married.

Bright and Bold

Close up picture of one of our beautiful March weddings.  Can we get any brighter or bolder?  I don’t think so.  Love, Love, Love these florals.  This bouquet consisted of roses, garden roses, stock, lisanthus, spray roses and ranunculas. Thank you Sarah Babcock Studio for this beautiful image!
