Bouquets aren’t only for Brides

This beautiful couple had an anniversary shoot with Nixon Photography. Actually, this is Michelle Nixon, of Nixon photography. They specialize in wedding photography, baby/newborns, senior portraits, and family portraits.  And of course, she is holding a bouquet made by Floral V Designs.   You don’t have to only have a bouquet for the day of your wedding.  Remember you have an engagement session and of course anniversary sessions.

ideas that inspire us…

The rustic look is very popular with our brides right now; the idea of vintage and romantic all wrapped up into one look. When we saw this picture in a local magazine, we had to take a picture of it and share it with everyone. It is an older window ledge filled with sheet moss, succulents and individual containers of clustered flowers and twigs.

Fall, here we come!

With the summer heat and drought coming to an end, we were inspired by the colors of this wedding.  These pictures are from a wedding we did last year on Miami, Oxford campus.  Of course the theme “Fall,” was shown in many places; from the pumpkins on the tables, to the mums and berries and the twigs throughout the taller arrangements, the room was a color explosion of warm earth tones!  What a great overall theme.

Something White

A beautiful bouquet of Vendela ivory Roses covered in white Gardenias.  This bouquet had the most amazing scent!  Can you imagine 17 gardenias?  It was quite sweet. The bridesmaids wore dusty lavender dresses, all with Ivory flowers.  What a beautiful wedding party! The beautiful Bride & Groom. Our bride Farida, is from the Dayton area but she is currently is Medical School in Chicago.  She met her photographer Andrew, of John Andrews Photography and realized he was the wedding photographer for her.  So he made the treck to Dayton, all 272 miles to shoot this amazing wedding!  And wow, was it worth it!  Check out more of his work at JohnAndrewsphotography.com

Rose of the week

SWEETNESS “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” We are starting a “Rose of the week post.” Each rose is grown from its individual grower/farm somewhere in the world.  Roses are grown in California, Equador and many more countrys and states.  Each has its own unique name, style and smell. This rose, for instance is called “Sweetness.” It is conisdered a white-ish rose with a hot pink edge. The edge isnt consistant from one rose to the next, but I think that is what makes it unique. It isnt a large head rose; it has around 25 petals per stem. That is a standard size rose in the floral industry. It has a very sweet (no pun intended) smell, but its not overwhelming. This color is perfect for the bride that wants just a hint of her color in her bouquet, using the hot pink as an accent, of course
